I can’t believe I’m two thirds of the way through my Lensbaby 365 challenge.
In August I was shooting with the Single glass optic which is one of the older Lensbaby optics. I love the softness of these lenses when at their widest aperture. Most of these shots are at f2.
To get the close ups I used the *4 macro filter.
My memories of August were it was a dull almost over cast month, especially when I was out with my camera. The light seems to change about half way through the month and the mornings have certainly felt much darker over the last few weeks. It won’t be long til I’m getting up in the dark again.
How quickly times flies!
At the start of 2021 I decided it was time to have a go at another 365 project. The aim was to use some of my older Lensbaby optics rather than having them just sat in the cupboard. I decided I’d use a different lens or optic each month. The time has flown by and I can’t believe I’ve now completed seven months. For July I was playing with the Soft Focus optic.
The shots are a random collection based on what catches my attention when I’m out with with my dog and the camera. Hopefully you will find something which appeals to you.
The challenge for June was to take a photo each day with the Lensbaby Pin Hole/Zone Plate Optic. This was the hardest challenge to date. This optic is two in one, the zone plate has an aperture which approximates f19 and the pin hole is F177. The Zone plate aperture is a series of concentric circles which creates the glow. The zone plate works best in high contrast situations.
I enjoyed playing with this older optic. I love the hazy effect and it definitely adds to the summer feel in some of the shots.
The challenge is to take a photo every day through 2021 using my different Lensbaby lenses and optics. During May I used the Burnside 35. It produces great pictures with rich colours and in some cases a lovely swirly background.
I can’t believe we are at the end of April, that means I’m one third of the way through my Lensbaby 365 project. For the April challenge I used the Creative Bokeh Optic and the Muse.
The shots are collected together below.
These are my March Lensbaby 365 Project photos. They were all taken using a double glass optic.
My photography challenge for February was to take a photo every day using the Fisheye optic or Circular Fisheye lens. I was amazed at how close I could get to my subject so they are great for macro photography and the fisheye effect adds another dimension when used to full effect All twenty eight photos are below.
My January challenge was to take a photo every day using one of my Lensbaby Sweet optics. The shots are all below. Previously I have struggled with the Sweet 80 but during January, I seemed to use it the most.
I did cheat one day and use the Lensbaby Circular Fisheye lens.
